Barbara "Allison" Linthicum
May 23, 1967 – July 20, 2023
On May 23,1967 the most beautiful soul was brought into this world. If you ever had the privilege to be
graced by Allison; you would know that she was more than someone that cared, she loved. Allison was a
mother, wife, sister, aunt, daughter, cousin, and most of all a friend.
Allison truly believed that LOVE is the greatest superpower. She graced us with her love by caring
endlessly for her family, always asking about others, listening, baking for friends, trying to save every
animal on the side of the road, giving to charities, volunteering with children's ministries for over 10 years,
and taking one of her most beloved friends out at least once a month for fun events, shopping, and
always a meal for the past 30 years. She will be greatly missed, but anyone that was blessed by her
LOVE will never forget.
On July 20, 2023 heaven got a little bit better. Allison is now having her dance parties, biting her bottom
lip with both fists in the air. One day we will get to be with her again, and that will be a day of celebration.
Allison had recently written this down in her notes:
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your
heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." - John 14:27
This Sunday (July 23) between 3-5 PM, we welcome anyone who considered Allison a friend to join us at
State of Beer (401 Hillsborough St, Raleigh).

That was the perfect tribute and description of one of the most loving and big hearted people I ever had the honor to know. She was all described above and fun to be with, giving without being asked, kindness personified. She made the best banana pudding you ever ate and she would give you a hug whenever she saw you. Regardless of what was happening in her life, she always had time to listen and care about your life. When we worked together she was the first one to start a food train if someone was sick or struggling with a sick family member. Everyone should strive to be like Allison . She was an angel way before heaven received her this week. Iu2019m so very sad to lose her but more than that Iu2019m most grateful for what she gave to me and those who knew her.
May we find comfort in the divine affirmation that Allison, a kind-hearted and lovingly, abides now with our Heavenly Father. Her thoughtful demeanor and gentle spirit were a testament to His love. Her courage made her a tower of strength. Now, God has welcomed home an angel of unparalleled bravery.
May our hearts be comforted in remembering the legacy of Barbara, a beacon of faith, love and passion. Her radiant spirit graced us all at Cato Research, where she touched lives with her thoughtfulness. She extended kindness by introducing us to novel worlds through books, nurturing our work-family bond. Our memories with her will forever remain etched in our hearts. Linda, Tori and Chase Spencer, we stand with you during this sorrowful time as Barbara's warmth continues to inspire us all.
Allison was a bright light in the world; a wonderful human with a huge heart & generous spirit. We who have known her are fortunate, and blessed that her love lives on through Blair and Ella.
I have so many fond memories of Allison and in this time of loss, it is difficult for me to find the words. She was such a kind and gentle spirit who gave her love and devout attention so freely. Even on the days when she may have been suffering in her body, her heart and soul carried on and gave to the fullest. Whenever I was at my lowest, she took the time to listen and was there with kind words, love, compassion, patience, and of course...her famous pound cake, which as it turns out, is another labor of love. If I had to choose one word to encompass all that she was to so many, I would chose LOVE. Rest well in His arms my friend and know that you are loved and will be missed.
I remember you all from Wiley days. Allison always seemed joyful, friendly and kind. Wishing you all much peace and love. May her memory be a blessing and bring you comfort. Julie Cox
I had the pleasure of knowing Allison through Blair, my partner at Cary Guitar Lessons, the teaching studio we run together. Most of my interactions with Allison took place when we crossed paths there but we also had some conversations that went past the usual topical chit chat. I'll always recall her super engaging, inquisitive and sharp mind during those meetings and even more so her always radiating the most genuine, positive energy, even through times when things weren't running at a 100%. Along with my memorable impressions everything I heard about her through Blair and others painted a picture of a truly giving soul who always put others before herself. She was special and will always be missed but never forgotten.
I remember me seeing her all the time and whenever she put a smile on her face it made my day. Very close friends forever and will always be missed.
