Brenda Louise Jones Johnson, 81, of Smithfield went to be with the Lord on October 14, 2023. She was born on September 24, 1942, to the late Walter and Levie Godwin Jones. In addition to her parents, Brenda was predeceased by her husband, Charles Earl Johnson; and a great-grandson, Benjamin Lancaster.
Brenda is survived by her daughter, Lori Reese; her son, David Earl Johnson (Cathy); her grandchildren, Natalie Lancaster, Brian Lancaster (Tammy), Stephen Reese (Tanya), Nathan Johnson (Meredith), Andy Johnson (Brady), and Madelaine Reese; and her great-grandchildren, Abriel Lancaster, Devario Blue, Clementine Reese, Carter Reese, Callie Lancaster, Dixon Lancaster, Cataleya Reese, Carlos Rivas, Melanie Rivas, and Wyatt Kazmier.
Brenda was a Christian woman who loved her family and friends. She loved music and tending to the flowers in her yard, as well as shopping, doing crossword puzzles and coloring.
A private memorial will be held when she is buried beside her husband at Elizabeth Methodist Church Cemetery in Smithfield.
