I went to elementary and high school with David. We lost touch over the years but I always remember in 5th grade he had the best school project in the class! I am just so, so sorry for your loss. David was always smiling in High School and laughing. Everyone liked him! Prayers for your family.

David was the coolest cousin to grow up with. Like an older brother and a best friend rolled into one. An outdoor enthusiast from the start. If he was anywhere near the house he was probably on the roof, jumping onto the trampoline, launching my brother Brandon and me into hilarious oblivion …or the next adventure: Diving team, soccer, waterskiing. Everything he did, he did with the courage of a warrior and the grace of a dancer. A true wandering spirit, David just loved to go. From the mountains to the beach, we wore out some tires and some tapes too. Those albums we listened to along the way are forever etched in my mind with the image of his beautiful face and the sound of that explosive laughter. A true creative, a craftsman, an artist. David taught me my first chords on guitar. Everything he built or carved with those two hands, I hope they remain forever as a living testament to the light that David was in this life. My heart is breaking—for his mother, Sylvia; sister, Lisa; wife, Sherri; and daughters, Maylea and Macey especially. David was a fiercely loyal and loving son, brother, uncle, husband and father. My prayer is that we can all keep his memory alive by living a little more like David. We can honor him by approaching life a little more like a playful game, a new adventure, or a work of art. See you in the sunshine, Cuz.

Missing an amazing human taken from us far too soon. How lucky was I to have such an adventurous, kind, goofy, all around incredible uncle ❤️ When I was little, I remember you walking into a room and picking me up by my ankles to lift me upside down. What might’ve seemed terrifying was thrilling because I knew you’d never drop me. Years later, you stuck a green chip in my face and said “EAT THIS” and I did, no questions asked. You were flabbergasted that I didn’t even flinch, but the answer was easy - I knew if the chip was coming from you, no matter the color, it was safe. You were always there for those you loved, and so supportive of me at every phase of my life. I hope to honor you on every hike I take in some small way because I know you would’ve remembered and asked how it was, by completing a Tough Mudder like we’d always talked about, and carrying on your legacy of kick-ass dog training (was always inspired by you and learned most of the techniques I use now with my dog from watching your thoughtful and kind pet parentship and compassionate leadership with your animals). Heartbroken for my aunt and cousins for losing their husband and father so soon, and your mother, sister, and all those who loved you so much. I know you’ll be with us in spirit on every hike, vacation, boat ride, and adventure that we take, but damn will we wish you could be there with us physically.
