Desire Zeljko Nikolic, 80, of Durham, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024. Desire was born on March 22, 1943 in Malinska, Croatia to parents Maks and Katija Sucic Nikolic.

Zeljko,( as he was known at work) was a man I had the pleasure of working with from1995-2012. He was a very optimistic and upbeat person who I will always look back on with a smile. I used to enjoy his tales of 'breaking out" of Yugoslavia when he was a young man and his adventures of relocating in the US. I particularly will miss his comradery and support on the Bahrain project we worked on from 2007-2012. The last time I saw him in 2021 I told him I would contact him one day. Sadly, this did not happen, my loss. RIP my friend, my condolences to any surviving family, you have lost a very good and kind man.
