Gordon Kwok Hang Tsang passed away on June 2, 2020 in the early morning after a brief battle with an aggressive form of cancer. He was 89 years old. His family is grateful for the guidance and support of his physician Dr. James Womble and the staff and doctors of Transition Lifecare of Raleigh during his illness
Gordon was born in Hong Kong on November 25, 1930 to Mr. Tsang Hong Kam and Mrs. Tsang Lam Sui Chun. His family was not wealthy and at age 11 years, because Hong Kong fell under the invasion from Japan in 1941, he was not able to continue his schooling. Gordon was diligent and motivated as a young man and through self-studies, he learned English in night school while earning money to help support his family and younger siblings. At age 18, he successfully passed the entrance exam and interview to work at the British telecommunication company Cable and Wireless Ltd, where as a wireless operator, utilized Morse Code to transmit telegraphic messages across the globe. While he was working, he continued his studies and obtained a diploma from the Hong Kong Polytechnic College and eventually transferred to the Wireless Engineering Department in Cable and Wireless. At the end of his career, Gordon was stationed at the Cape D'Aguilar
