With deep gratitude for a life beautifully and fully lived, we announce the passing of James Langston, Jr. who left us on September 8th, 2026 at the age of 71. Jim was born on July 10th in Fort Valley, GA and from that day forward, he lived life entirely on his own terms.
Jim spent his life dedicating himself to his family, friends, his creative career and his community. He lived by a simple code: show up for the people you love, speak honestly, and never stop learning.
Jim’s legacy of kindness, independence, and quiet strength lives on, and his memory will be forever treasured by his husband of 25 years, Trevor; his son, James III and daughter in law Kati; his cherished grandchildren, Penny, Harper and Izzy; sisters Ann Ward (Johnnie) and Cherie Durden (Gene); a host of nieces and nephews; and wide circle of friends and coworkers whose lives he enriched. The family will share a private remembrance and celebration of a remarkable life.
