Janet Marie McLear Snow
Janet Marie McLear Snow (91)was born in Richmond, Indiana to George & Charlotte McLear. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family on 9/26/2026 in Fuquay Varina, NC after battling cancer.
She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Robert Ralston “Bob” Snow; her two daughters, Beth Snow Toth (Curtis Toth) and Cindy Snow (James Young); and two grandchildren, Weston Toth and Lauren Toth.
Janet set out at 18, for Colorado to attend floral design school—a remarkable decision for a young woman of that time. This journey began a lifelong passion and career in floral design.
She was a talented designer for decades. Her most prestigious recognition was being selected by the FTD in 1985, to assist with designing and building a float for the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, California. It reflected the creativity, dedication, and skill she brought to everything she did.
Her love of flowers and nature surpassed the confines of work. She had an impressive knowledge of flowers and birds which extended to her yard, special events and a delight she shared with family & friends. She passed that love of nature on to her children and grandchildren and shared it often with friends and strangers.
Janet, Bob and their daughters made Hartsville, South Carolina their home for over 40 years. In 2018, they moved to Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Janet will be remembered most for her generous giving, creativity, lasting friendships, remarkable strength, her knack of helping others with a smile, a home-cooked meal, a beautiful bouquet and her genuine care of people. A devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother, she faced every challenge with determination, grace, and a true can-do attitude.
Most of all, she leaves behind a family who loves her deeply and carries forward the many life lessons she taught them. We will always love and miss her, remembering her smile, strength, generosity, and the love she gave so freely.
Janet’s life touched many people, and her beautiful legacy will continue to live on in all of us who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
