Lillian Callahan

Lillian Callahan was born on August 29th, 1921 in Jersey City, NJ to two Norwegian parents and passed away peacefully in Raleigh, NC on November 27, 2019, at the age of 98.

Lillian loved sewing and playing piano. You could always count on her to play piano at family events and outings, and she would always make the most beautiful needlepoint wall hangings for family and friends. She volunteered at hospitals and her church where she was a member of the Mission Quilters, who made quilts for people in nursing homes. Lillian was also an avid reader and was always up to speed with the latest thriller and romance novel on the market. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow up and her fondest memory until her final day was her surprise 98th birthday party where every family member was present from North Carolina and Florida.

Lillian is survived by her son, Oliver (and Diane) Vanderhoff, of Tallahassee, FL; her daughter, Karen (and Bobby) Langham, of Raleigh, NC; her granddaughters Nanci, Jessica, and Lindsey; her great-grandchildren Tyler, Breanna, Kaelynn, Bryton, Adison, Natalie, Christian, Holden, Jack and her great-great-granddaughter, Kacey. She is predeceased by her husband, John William Callahan and her granddaughter Melissa Langham.

A private memorial service in Tallahassee, Florida is pending.
