It is with sadness we announce Marie Alice Connolly-Whitmore, of Barker, NY, age 67, passed away at Duke University in North Carolina on February 11th, 2022



If you did not know Marie, you would have liked her, most people did. She had a warm smile and made every effort to connect with everyone she encountered. She was a vibrant soul. She could literally light up any room she entered.



She was generous with her time and energy and offered advice to anyone in need. She provided invaluable support to a remarkable number of people over the years. Over the past few days we have heard many stories of the friends, relatives, neighbors, and even strangers to whom our mother provided help and support in their everyday lives.



Our lasting memories of our mom are simple. She was a hardworking, passionate figure of strength. Marie never lacked in providing support and love to anyone and everyone around her. She was a woman who soldiered on no matter what life threw her way. Times could be tough, but Marie was tougher.



Finally, her whimsical approach to life was the key to her happiness. She was always in pursuit of another experience, a little more fun, or a new adventure. To her last day, she was connected with everyone around her and shared her contagious smile, energy and generosity.



We may not have always understood her approach to life but she completed her mystery puzzle in the end. Our memories of her are sweet, exciting, tormented, funny and elevating.

Mom you will always be remembered and loved.

Marie is survived by her children, grandchildren and loving family members.
