Mark Anthony Casanova

Mr. Mark Anthony Casanova, age 58, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 24, 2022, in North Carolina. Mark was born on October 1, 1963, in Brooklyn, NY. He was the son of Adele and Mario Casanova.

Mark was one of five siblings and loved his brothers and sisters very much. Mark worked as a mason laborer for all of his life. He was part of the local 79 union, which he also considered family. Mark decided to create a family of his own when he met Tracy Hanley, the love of his life. He married Tracy on July 4, 1991. Not only did Mark marry Tracy, but he also quickly became the father of her daughter Patricia. Right after marriage, Mark and Tracy gave birth to two more beautiful baby girls, Taylor and Katlin Casanova.

Mark was not only a hero to his daughters, but also a hero to the American people. During the Ground Zero cleanup, after 9/11, Mark made it his mission to help families find their loved ones. Mark even cut down the last beam standing of the remaining Twin Towers.

Mark was known for his infectious personality, terrible dad jokes, and love and dedication he had for his family. He became a Pop-pop in May of 2017 to Joshua Torres and was expecting to be a grandfather again, this coming March.

Mark will forever be known as a hardworking and dedicated husband, father, son, Pop-pop, brother, cousin, uncle and friend.
