Pamela Lynn Simmering, a gifted musician and devoted family woman, passed away on April 7, 2026. Born on September 28, 1951, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Pam was lovingly raised by Amos and Lee Lawson. A devoted Christian, her life was defined by her steadfast faith and the deep love she had for her family, her music, and the outdoors.
During her time at Mount Vernon Academy, a mutual friend introduced Pam to Mike, who would become the love of her life. The two were married just before Mike began his second year of college, embarking on a lifelong partnership. Together, they navigated the early years of their marriage, eventually moving to Delaware for work before settling in Raleigh in 1984. Along the way, they raised three wonderful children: Chris, Amy, and Andrew.
Music was a true cornerstone of Pam’s life. She shared her talent with her community, teaching piano and serving as a musician and accompanist for churches, choral groups, and school plays. Her melodies brought joy to countless people over the years.
When she wasn't at the piano, Pam could often be found in nature. She had a deep love for gardening, finding a special sense of peace while tending to her prayer garden. She also cherished family camping trips, relaxing days at the beach, and the companionship of her beloved dogs.
Above all else, Pam adored her family and took immense pride in her role as a grandmother. She leaves behind her husband, Mike; her children, Chris, Amy, and Andrew; and her four beloved grandchildren, Christopher, Olivia, Anna, and Joah, who will forever carry her memory and warmth in their hearts
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026 at 3:00pm at Little Creek SDA Fellowship, 2585 Little Creek Church Rd, Clayton, NC.
