Robert L. Harris of Henderson, NC passed away on March 6, 2024, at Hock Family Pavilion, Duke Hospice in Durham, NC. He was surrounded by family at the time of his death. A native of Vance County; he was the son of the late William L. Harris, Jr.(Lonnie) and Ann B Harris (Woody). He was a U.S. Army Veteran and later worked at the Vance County jail.
Surviving are his two daughters, Megan H. Murphy (Kevin) of Jeffersonville, IN and Amanda L. Harris of Louisville, KY; and his granddaughter, Elena of Louisville, KY. He has two surviving sisters, Virginia H. Thacker (Charles) of Franklin, IN and Rebecca H. Cockrell of Henderson, NC. He has five nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth K. Sanders.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the Fall.
