Robert Nelson Cowley, 78, of Henderson passed away on January 24, 2025 at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC. Robert was born on December 1, 1946 in Bloomburg, Ohio to Thomas and Arlene Kuster.
Robert was a retired sheriff deputy and a former Air Force Sgt. His favorite activities were staying in touch with his friends and preparing for Armageddon. Robert was a well-trained organist who enjoyed playing for several churches throughout the years. He also played while in school. Robert was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Free Masons.
Robert lived his life quietly and “under the radar” as he called it. He made people laugh all the time when he was out and about. He was quick witted and loved a good joke. I am sure he is still trying to do things his own way even now.
Robert was preceded in death by his mother, Arlene Kuster Cowley and father, Thomas Cowley.
Robert is survived by Allen, son, Allen’s wife Amy and their two daughters Devyn and Annasten, Theresa, daughter, and her daughter Taylor. His companion, Lisa T. was with him at his passing.
Robert wanted no fanfare. His wishes are honored.
