Suzanne was a devoted wife to me for 47 years. She loved passionately and well. She was a gifted teacher and servant of Jesus. She served in the Stephen Ministry (a lay-ministry program) at several churches, and was a comfort to everyone to whom she ministered. She was organized, determined, and tenacious, never letting obstacles sway her. She put her love of God into every project, whether it was making gift baskets or cards for those she loved. Among her favorite Bible passages was Psalm 91...'Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty....I will say of the Lord, u201cHe is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.u201d....
So sorry for your loss Stephen. May Godu2019s peace and comfort surround you.
Steve, I'm so sorry to hear of Suzanne's passing. Suzanne was a wonderful woman, and I remember the few months I spent at your house and the long conversations I had with her every evening. She always had a smile on her face and kind words for everyone, and I'll be forever grateful for her support during my stay in Raleigh. I pray for your peace and comfort as you continue your life journey without her. Satish Ramanathan
Steve, I am so sorry for your loss. The kindness you and Suzanne would constantly show me every time I came to visit always meant so much, and just in our conversations I could see what a thoughtful, kindhearted, and nurturing woman she was. When she gave me that bumblebee Pillow Pet for Christmas because I would bring my ladybug one whenever I spent the night, I was so happy and touched that she noticed something so small and simple and turned that into such a sweet and considerate gift. She will truly be missed. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers! -Rhea
Steve, we all will miss Suzanne so very much. She was a good friend, a caring Stephen Minister, and a Christian sister to us all. We will miss her greatly. I pray for comfort and peace for you now. May the Lord be with you and comfort you in the knowledge that Suzanne is with Her Lord. With love in Christ, Susan.
I knew Suzanne when she was a teacher in Montgomery County, MD. Both my children were fortunate enough to have her as their teacher and I will never forget my son running home the last day of school when he was in 3rd grade screaming, I got Mrs. Tougias again...he was thrilled. She became a very good friend of our family and both she and Stephen were welcomed into our home many times. We all missed both of them when they moved to North Carolina. Suzanne was a lovely, caring person and always, as you can see by the pictures, had a smile on her face. I know she'll be missed by many, both here and in North Carolina. May she rest in peace. We are not without hope, for we will see her again. She promised me she would make sure our mansions were next door to each other in heaven. What a day of rejoicing that will be!!! You are in our prayers & forever in our hearts. Love, Grace & Peace, Donald & Suzanne Bowling
I met Suzanne through my wife and immediately, realized I was being introduced to an angel. Her glowing smile, mannerism, personality, and quaint, humble and caring spirit portrayed a child of Christ from that very moment as we shared in conversation. I remember telling her, 'When I grow up, I want to be more like you.' Kindly accept my condolences, from another brother in Christ, and one friend to another, and my prayers as we go forth. Don Bowling

I was musing on conversations Suzanne and I had about Heaven. First, it is promised to believers in John 316--For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Second, the transition to Heaven is immediate The believing thief on the cross said to Him, Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom-- Jesus answered him, Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise. From the Hebrew Scriptures, the book of Job 19 25-27 tells us--'I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes-I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me! Can you think of other promises from God How wonderful it is to trust in His Word!
