Thomas Dwight Hamlett, of Leasburg, died on Wednesday June 24, 2020 at Duke Regional Hospital. He was 66. He was born on December 1, 1953 in Burlington, NC. He was the son of Robert Andrew Hamlett and Nellie Barts Hamlett.
He was a 1973 graduate of Bartlett Yancey Senior High School. He worked at General Electric in Mebane for 35 years.
He is survived by a son Jason Hamlett and wife, Amanda of Henderson; a daughter Kelly Dixon and husband, Josh of Rocky Mount; two grandsons Colson Lee Dixon and Easton "Hawk" Hamlett; one sister Wanda Butts and husband, Ronnie. One niece Ashley Griffin. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son Christopher Lee Hamlett.
At this time, the family has decided to hold a memorial service to celebrate his life at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled by First Cremation Society.

A lifelong friend and neighbor..Boo Boo, my brother Mitch were always close..He had a special bond with my Daddy Snake Ashby....they shared many nights together at my Daddys store on 119 ' soving the world's problems'...He visited my Daddy and mama faithfully during their years of declining health...Godspeed Boo Boo!
